Students entering Stream C from high school, from the workforce, or as transfer students from another faculty or program must complete 90 credit hours to obtain a BA. Students complete their first two years at the UW (general arts and science courses and Core Year). The UW Core Year is equivalent to the first year of the RRC or USB two-year ECE Diploma. Prior to entering the third year of the program, students will complete a Spring Practicum at RRC or USB. During the third year, students will attend RRC and complete the requirements for the second year of the two-year ECE program. In the fourth year of the program, students will return to UW to complete the Stream C Specialization year.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded both RRC or USB’s two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma, and UW’s three-year BA degree. They may apply to the Child Day Care Office, Manitoba Family Services and Labour, for their Early Childhood Educator III classification.

Download the Stream C Handbook, and refer to pages 2, 4, 7, and 8.
