What is unique about Stream C of the Developmental Studies Program?

We are the only degree-granting program in Early Childhood Education in Manitoba. Graduates are eligible for the highest classification—Early Childhood Educator III—from the Manitoba Ministry of Family Services and Housing.

  • With your degree, you are poised to take on a leadership role in the childcare community in Manitoba.
  • As a joint program with Red River College (RRC) and Université de Saint-Boniface (USB), we offer a variety of courses, which emphasize the bridging of theory with practice.
  • Our Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) program allows those with extensive experience in the childcare field to obtain credit for equivalent university-level knowledge and skills gained outside the classroom
  • Our new Advanced Diploma in Leadership in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is a leadership development program designed for childcare professionals who already have experience in the childcare field. This diploma provides a unique combination of courses from the DCE Professional Studies Program Area and Developmental Studies, Stream C.
